The EtherPad Blog: EtherPad Blog: Google Wave Joins EtherPad in Real-time Collaboration

  • JGate · 6 months ago
When I saw the early presentation of Wave, I immediately thought: "This is what EtherPad is already doing since months". And EtherPad has this killer feature of running on own infrastructure, which makes it the number one choice for business use. A possible interagration with Wave however would be a plus.

I think Wave has 50 people working on it, so I guess it makes sense for the 3 of you to think smaller. I'll probably want some real time functionality in my apps at some point, and Wave looks promising with the combination of robots and gadgets. I would suggest that Etherpad gain at least one of those two to stay interesting.

Etherpad is the best app in a real-time writing. Google Wave the only serious competitor now. Do you have any news?

It's kind of funny to look at this post now, after Google bought AppJet, open-sourced it, and will be adding EtherPad's creators to its Google Wave team.
